The expansive terrace beckons you to unwind under the leafy canopies, making it an ideal spot for sipping drinks and enjoying the harmonious sounds of nature.

While MawArt’s menu may appear simple, it is the atmosphere that truly elevates your experience. Guests can indulge in a selection of beverages, from robust coffees that awaken your senses to refreshing drinks that quench your thirst as you explore. Take a note from Dave Masters, who exclaimed this café as a "hidden gem" where you can spend hours engaging in art, particularly their Batik painting sessions which have become a favorite among patrons. Though the food options lean towards pastries and cakes, the quality of the coffee has left many, like Farah A, raving about the rich flavors that accompany their artistic pursuits.

What sets MawArt apart is not just its artistic offerings but the community it fosters. Customers are continually welcomed with warm smiles and comforting vibes, ensuring that each visit feels like coming home. Where do I start?? My daughter and I came here to check the place out and were excited to do some Batik Painting. When we arrived, we were greeted with such big smiles to this amazing place with such a cool vibe. It’s hard to describe… it’s kinda like a chill house with different rooms and you can walk around and have a good look at all the art. Outside on the terrace some really cool guys are jamming to some awesome tunes with their guitars, in such quiet, peaceful voices, nothing loud, just soothing vocals. They’re such a friendly bunch! Once Nasri, one of the main dudes, who showed us around, then set up all the painting and gave us a quick demo. After which we ordered great coffee and some fab cherry pie and were on our way, to what ended up as a splendid afternoon of just soaking in the calm ambiance of the place and rediscovering our creative sides. The guys were playing some soft tunes too. Right after we decided to make some langkawi bracelets with Ellie, who is the loveliest Bornean lady sitting on the terrace with so many beautiful beads made of glass, seeds, legumes and wood. She’s helps you make them and it’s really fun! Haven’t done that in a long time!! I can go on and on about this cool place with its wonderful people!!! Even after four hours and some, we were so sad to leave!! Definitely a must visit if you’re on the island!!

Rumah Mawart: Where Art, Coffee, and Chill Vibes Meet Just like its name suggests, Rumah Mawart is filled with artistic charm. To get here, you’ll need to take a small detour through a village road, but don’t worry Google Maps will lead you right to the spot, so no need to panic about getting lost (we didn’t either haha!). As soon as you step inside, the barista warmly welcomes you and actually encourages you to take a stroll around the place before ordering anything. It’s not your average café this space is packed with all kinds of artworks, vintage decor and antique treasures you don’t see every day. They’ve got old-school cassette tapes from various music genres, handmade crafts, tote bags, clothing and even a cozy corner with books to read. Basically, it’s a mix of café, gallery, and creative studio all rolled into one. The seating areas are super quirky too it feels like an old house that’s been creatively transformed into a hangout spot. One of the coolest things? You can try your hand at batik painting for just RM35! Perfect for expressing our not-so-professional artistic side (and yes, we gave it a go haha). It was a super fun, relaxing way to spend time. The staff? Super friendly and welcoming. We only ordered coffee and fresh drinks (since we were already full), but they also serve a variety of cakes if you’re feeling snacky. Prices are pretty standard for a café like this nothing too pricey. In the end, we spent our time just sipping drinks, soaking in the artsy vibe and painting batik at our own chill pace. Definitely a hidden gem worth visiting if you love cozy spaces with character and a touch of creativity.

Great hidden gem. Spent 3 enjoyable hours trying Batik painting. Coffee and pastries fantastic (no meals). Super friendly staff. WARNING: It's quite difficult to find, no signs on the main road and even looks closed when you arrive. Push through. It's worth it!

The road towards this place felt like you are invading someone's residential xD A Kampung house that was transformed into a green, art, music cafe with wood and greeneries. It has different sections to check out which was fun. Menu is basic here. Unfortunately lempeng wasn't available. You get a range of drinks and just cake and some pastries for food. Drinks felt average but I guess the whole environment made up for it!

What a cool place to go !! We went there to have some coffee and I was surprised by the mood of the place, there was people painting and playing guitar, making it super nice to stay for a while. The decoration is also super cute. As for the coffee and food, it was really good ! I loved the New York cheesecake I'd gladly come back again.

Underrated, unassuming and hidden, this is such a beautiful gem right in front of the famous Makam Matsuri — come here for coffee, some sweet treats, and lots of vibes. While you’re at it, get creative with batik painting. You find yourself in a therapeutic state of mind here.

What a lovely place to spend a few hours relaxing, painting and reading away from the hustle and bustle. The coffee and cake were delicious. 100% recommended for adults and children.
